This is pretty much what I have been suggesting for awhile now. Anyway, the *ist D was initially made with the same crippled mount but as I have said a few days ago, Pentax is apparently working on modifications and the *ist D design isn't finalized yet. So theres still hope for the digital version.
Interestingly (if I'm not reading too much into it), the data file says the *ist uses Kaf mount but is compatible wth both Kaf2 and Kaf mount. This opens for that the *ist may have Kaf3 mount. P�l
