Are you absolutely sure about this? From what Boz wrote, I concluded that 
the aperture DOES close, but all shots with the aperture not set at wide
open 
would be more or less underexposed. Someone has mentioned that the *ist 
should behave like the MZ-50 if the Custom Function is set to allow taking 
pictures with non-A lenses. Can the MZ-50 stop down an M-Lens, and is it 
possible to compensate for the underexposure? 
These questions are important to me, as I have a manual Vivitar 17/3.5 
that I would like to use on the *ist. Compensating for the underexposure 
would be bothersome but acceptable.
However, if the *ist does not even allow this, I probably won't buy one.
