Re Canon, you said:
+ 50% of the entire EOS system is available on eBay at any time;
90% can be seen within a month
What this means to me is, there are a lot of people selling a lot of
EOS gear! Why is that, do you suppose?
+ second-hand items available at top prices
By 'top prices' do you mean expensive? If you do mean expensive, how
does this rate as a plus?
Perhaps you could elaborate.
- no mechanical body in the program
By "in the program" do you mean "no plans to build any?"
I am not impressed with Canon's lack of mechanical bodies/lenses.
I don't know Canon that well at all ~ do they make a manual body at
all? Did they ever, in recent times? And if so, is it at all
compatible with present day lenses, like Pentax does?
On the other hand, if this comparison is only going to concern itself
with the EOS system, I'll back off and not post non-pertinent comments.
The more automation you build into a camera, it seems to me the more
expensive it becomes. Add to that a rather high premium being paid for
the name, and that is another minus... In my mind.
