Dont they make spot FLASH meters too?

BTW, The "metering" method I usually use for flash works FANTASTIC.
It's called guide # !! As long as you know the distance
to the subject accurately and can do the division in your
head, it never fails!! Better than TTL or autoflash because
like incident metering, the subject reflectance is not part
of the calculation.

As far as ambient goes, I usually use Sunny f16 first, then
incident if it's not sunny, then reflected if not possible
to measure incident for average scenes, then as a last
resort digital spotmeter for unusual scenes.
