Your point is well taken regarding telling the difference between zooms and
primes.  On the web at about 96 dpi, there;s probably little diff.  But when
looking at the original, maybe so? I love my FA 28-200.  But when I look at
all my PUG submissions and otherwise (looking at the original) , my gut
likes the ones with primes in almost every case.  For instance
http://pug.komkon.org/00febr/WoodenBoats.htm was shot with a prime. It has a
crispness and clarity (not blowing my own horn) even at this low resolution
that I don't see in some of my zoom photos.

 Not disagreeing with you, just noticing a slight preference.

I doubt anyone could pick a cropped Vs. Full-frame.
