Hi
First. Are you sure you mean vignetting - thr picture being brighter towards
the edges??? I could understand if it's the opposite.
I owned that lens once - my first Pentax lens actually, with my MX. I'm sure
there is no vignetting visible to the naked eye - that would surprise me
very much. I shot many, many rolls with that lens and never noticed anytng
like you describe.
The cause might be elsewhere; in the viewfinder i.e. Also, when you look
through it - the aperture is wide open - that might extend the problem of
light fall off (?!).

Emne: Vignetting of M 35/2.8

Hi!

Recently I got my SMC M35/2.8 lens. It looks almost new, I can hardly
find any signs of it being used. Still I have a question.

Though I haven't developed a film that was (partially) exposed with
this lens, I already can notice quite heavy vignetting in the
viewfinder of my ZX-L. That is, the corners of the image are way
darker than the center. And I am pointing the camera at blank window
on my computer screen or at evenly colored and illuminated wall...

It looks very odd to me. Can it be that my sample is optically
defective?

Boris
