You offered to take it back? Did you offer to refund the shipping too? If you did, he has no complaint, and is just trying to get some money out of you. You will probably just have to accept that he is going to give you a negative feedback, and note on it that you offered a full refund. What more can you do?
I bought a lens once that had a lot of dust in it that wasn't mention in the listing, and I mean a lot. Anyone would have noticed it. The seller offered to take it back refunding shipping as well, but by then I had tested it. I still have it. But, if it had not been so good, and a 24 f2, he would have gotten it back. I have received partial refunds a couple of times, but in each case it was clear to the seller that there was a real problem with the item that had not been mentioned in the listing. Once because I provided photos to prove it, and the other time because the buyer thought his listing photos showed the problem, but he agreed they did not after looking at them on his Ebay listing himself. I checked had the lens thoroughly when I first bought it and before listing it on eBay and didn't notice anything at all... it is possible I missed it of course. I immediately offered a full refund including postage costs for the return of the lens. I got a reply saying that he'd taken the lens to a camera shop and they said it wasn't fungus but a slight parting of the elements and that it wouldn't affect pictures. The buyer then said if he sold it he would still get less that the bid price, clearly indicating that he wanted me to give him a rebate of 20 or so. > > What should I do? I usually notice the tinniest marks on things and maybe this is a scam; simply a way of getting some money back. On the other hand I could have missed it and the buyer is being genuine. > > AB > > __________________________________________________________________________ > Join Freeserve http://www.freeserve.com/time/ > > Winner of the 2003 Internet Service Providers' Association awards for Best Unmetered ISP and Best Consumer Application. > > --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
