Printing out 8x10's from the inkjet (Epson 870) after scanning with the 2450 is decent.
I've had 120 Provia printed out to 20x24" from an Epson 7600 after Aaron scanned it in on the polaroid (yes, it's 4000 dpi).
The quality is about the same based on the size.
This makes me consider the Epson 2200 as then I would at least be able to go to 11x14.
It's me who's been asking all these scanner questions recently. My goal is 30cm x 40 cm prints which is probably 12x16 in inches. So can 2400 (2450) scanner give me this much? I have only one print made with 2450. It was a very successful photo of my daughter Galia (featuring this month's PUG <grin>) that was scanned and eventually printed. We hanged it by the door of our flat. Anyway, it looks good, though since I did it only once, I had no chance to compare it with anything else. Though I have two more prints that I must prepare and submit to local photo shop...
