Having used a digicam in the field that has exactly the same power options for 
over a couple of years now I'd predict that it won't be a problem (should the 
camera survive). You could buy 4-5 sets of 2100mA/h cells for the price of most 
proprietary Li-ion packs and to top it off they will have a longer service 
life. In any case I'm sure that an auxiliary Li-ion battery pack will appear in 
the long run for the die-hards.
