Really, this is what has pissed me off most about the lack of pre-A lens
support on all the latest cameras. It wasn't long ago that I shelled out
some significant money on K lenses, only to have Pentax effectively kill
their resale value.

There is always the possibility to drill another locking hole on the lens mount, 9mm away. I understand the lens would then gain access to "average" metering. Still a bit sad as our great K lenses, modified as you do for little money, were capable of matrix metering on the latest film bodies. Now, if the lens is moved away 9mm, would the isolated parts of the modified mount interfere with the electronics?
