So I was told of my new Peugeot 206. Months later when I had the time to go through the manuals, I found out much to my displeasure that the code-hopping was off - the factory default (apparently to increase the range). Then for the peace of mind I had to perform the tedious task of reprogramming the key. Morale: never trust the salesman.
