I bought some rolls of Tri-X 400 recently, and noticed vendor told me that
the emulsion has just been changed. For what its worth, the box the film
comes in looks different than it did just a couple of months ago. I feel
kind of wary about this. I liked the grain of Tri-X compared to films such
as TMax.

When the new formulations came out last year I was taken a class in B&W photography. The lab guy had an article that compared the new vs the old and the results seemed strange - Tri-X and Plus-X became more fine grained, T-Max 100 stayed about the same, T-Max 400 became grainier. But according to Kodak, they made some minor tweaks, mostly changing the emulsions to make them more resistant to dust problems.

I have not used the new Tri-X, Plus-X, of TMax 400 yet. About a year ago I shoot a couple of rolls of T-Max 100 and had problems developing it - I broke out a new roll recently and will develope it according to the new times to see how it works out.
