"pro" 35mm SLR. Could Pentax possibly be planning to keep the APS sized
sensor for the 35mm camera based DSLR and come out with a full 645 frame
DSLR in the 1 Ds price range. Pentax does have the advantage over N&C as
they are the only one with a MF lineup.  Just a thought....

I agree. I think that is extremely likely. Don't know what the market share 
is for MF, but Pentax is definitely a leader (or the leader) in that arena. So 
it's logical they would want to build on their MF reputation re digital.

I also think it extremely likely that AP (sized) sensors will remain the norm 
for the lower priced (relative term here) DSLRs for a long, long time. For 
one thing, lots of people like the increased "magnification" that it gives big 
glass. Since that has become an advantage in many people's eyes (and camera 
companies can issue *new* wide angle lenses designed specifically for DSLRs), it 
would seem to me to be something they would hesitate to give up completely. Or 
give up very soon. But I suspect the former.
