If I interpret what you wrote, the Pentax engineers in designing the *ist and the D had a design accident that made older K and M lenses partially incompatible? Mmmmmmm. I wonder if some independent digital camera maker might capitalize on the Pentax error and create a body that would be fully compatible with all K and M lenses and thereafter? I would be very interested in such a product.
