No, its the opposite. On the body there is a recessed, insulated pin that makes contact with an opposing pin on the lens mount. When the lens is set to "A" the pin on the lens gets shorted to ground.

That's precisely my point.


With any K/M lens that spot is metal, meaning that it is shorted
as if it were always in the A position.
If the spot is open (disconnected) then the camera reads the
simulator arm aperture setting.
