And I don't think everything goes underground. That's too cynical for me. Some, sure. But I believe people can change. I believe some people practice prejudice because they inherited or got it from their peers. But if it really sinks home that is what they are doing, they can rethink it and change. People can actually have their "consciousness raised." Happens all the time. It's an incremental thing. Like cultural change and language change.
