I don't have much experience with AF SLR cameras, I have actually used a total of 3 of them in my lifetime . I don't know about the numbers, other than knowing how much light they represent, but.... The AF performance of the ist D is satisfactory. You are only talking a difference of a stop anyway, according to Askey. William Robb
