Why would you want to leave your >> lens cap off when you're not shooting? Spotmatic F is the way to go. I don't use any screwmount bodies, although I have an SP. I don't think it's whining if people don't like the meter staying on. When I'm out shooting with 2 or 3 cameras I _never_ put the lens cap on, and I may be shooting for hours at a time. Typically I carry the cameras over my shoulders or round my neck, and they're ready to use. I don't want the wasted time of taking the cap/s off and putting them somewhere when there's a photo to be had. Even when I put the cameras in a bag I keep the caps off (I use metal hoods for protection). Not only are caps a waste of time, they're easily lost. Even those silly little 'cap keeper' bits of cord just get in the way and get tangled up with stuff; the answer is to keep the caps off the lenses. I'm glad modern cameras support this with proper time-outs on the meters, and foolproof switching back on. -- Cheers, Bob mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
