supposed to have the center terminal of the battery towards the battery cover, that looks wrong at first glance.

Thanks, I put the batteries in the right way and after some research (and many months) I found out how to turn on the meter. Only the top
red led lights up regardless of the shutter or aperture settings.
Does this mean that the metering resistors or contacts are bad?
