Have you talked to your opthalmologist? There seem to be a lot of blind photographers out there. My eyesight is not very good, never has been, but I can still focus a camera. Of course I do need to replace my glasses every couple of years. Also I would think most of your horse shots could be done with zone focusing, I mean you know where the fence is, right?

Sometimes I wonder how anyone ever took a photograph back in the old days.

Well thats was the most important thing for me,when i decided the AF camera was the way to
go when i realized my mf stuff was just not catching it anymore. Just compared my two rolls
shot with the SF-1 and PZ-1 and they both are a lot "crsiper" than most from the mf cameras taken this
summer.
Focus confirmation is a god send.:-)
