I had a similar problem with my LX. The film door would not latch correctly and when I tried to open it I would have the same experience you are having. Also, since the door didn't close and latch properly
I would sometimes get light streaks on my film! I sent the camera to
be repaired by Pentax, USA and haven't had a problem, however I don't know if you have the same option where you are but I know that officially Pentax is still repairing LXen. Oh, I forgot to say, that
the film door is probably out of alignment or twisted. If you can get the door to open you could remove it and try another door if you have one available. (I just compared my LX to my MX and the MX is slightly smaller and the door of the MX is angled at the corners while the LX door is rounded.

The door has a little play in it, as expected, so doesn't seem to be
stuck... its more like pulling up on the rewind lever doesn't release the
spring latch.  It doesn't have that 'sprung' feel to the final bit of the
movement, it just comes out a certain way and stops.
