No difference.  A CF card *is* a disk, as far as any software
is concerned; it's just implemented in solid-state memory.
All the data structures (directories, files, allocation tables,
etc.) are exactly the same as those on 'real' disk drives.

Which makes a microdrive a really strange creature; it's a
real rotating-media disk drive pretending to be a compact
flash card (which, in turn, pretends to be a disk drive).
