I knew I would get at least one person who still loves their vinyl. Not going to argue here. My point is that compared to a $1,500 digital camera, a $12 CD is cheap. And CD's last a lot longer (the way most people treat them) than records ever will. Vic
There are many people who would disagree with you and some of what you write is not just opinion but wrong. For example; CDs are not cheap to buy - they make considerably more profit per unit than vinyl ever did; they are not noise free; they are easily damaged and they then do not play at all; I can't think of any man-made article that is going to last even close to forever. The only clear-cut advantage I can see that CDs have over vinyl for the consumer is that they are unharmed by the playing process. mike
