Hi, I had this very same problem, too! Couldn't figure out why, perhaps bad connections inside the battery pack? I realised that the contact pins on different brand NiMH cells differ a little in their dimensions. Still need to figure out which set does the most trouble. But in the meantime I went to stuffing batteries only into the grip.
