I like Portra 800 for this sort of thing...it's probably going to be
pretty dark.
If you can bounce your flash off the ceiling, do it. You can also bounce
off walls.
I usually set the shutter as low as I can realistically hand-hold, and
vary the aperture according to what kind of DOF I'm looking for.
Stopping down will cover focusing errors, but I like to be sure to get
some shallow DOF shots.
I trust my matrix and ttl metering in these situations. I don't use AF.
Drink lots of water, don't be afraid to use your elbows.
