I second Doug's notion of Portra 800. I am quite amazed by this
film. Really pleasing colour, and very fine grain.
Interestingly, I shot a wedding with it this past weekend, and
am most pleased with the results. The day before the wedding, I
had some Fuji 800 pro stuff (NHGII?) come through the lab.
Really sucky skin tones, I thought.
Gawd, am I glad Mafud is off list right now... To have him read
THAT from me would be totally uncool.
The only problem I had with the Portra 800 was a couple of times
I had flash failure on the LX's because of that silly flash
extinguish "feature", and I had to dial the lens down to f 16 or
22 (in the case of the 50mm lens) a couple of times.
Boy, is that 77 ever sharp at f 16!!!! Zowie!!!
The poor girl.
