i got the istD with the fa 50 1.4 and 135 2.8 on the 135 the autofocus is so fast i barely even notice it happening.
btw. i set the istD to only focus when i press the AF buttom on the back, cause too many of my shots were mis-focused. also on my previous and now backup film camera - a zx-5n - the camera would take so long to focus i would get shots along the lines of "this is the wall where the person i wanted to take a picture of was standing when i started focusing. by the time i took this picture he was down the block" arnie ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Francis" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, December 02, 2003 7:22 PM Subject: SAFOX VIII problems? > > > > > > Borrow someone's A*85mm f1.4 and realise the mistake you > > > have made ;-) > > > > Buy an istD and 50/1.4 and get a similar fov. > > I've just heard of some reported problems with the SAFOX VIII > auto-focus with lenses wider than f4 max aperture. > > Apparently the FA 50/1.4 and 28-70/2.8 are particularly prone > to the errors, but the 80-200/2.8 also shows some problems. > > Anyone else heard of this? >
