I've always wondered,

Now that we no longer call the capital of The People's Republic of China by it's colonial name of Peking, and now call it "Beijing", must we do the same for the duck?

Is it now Beijing Duck?

Just curious.

BTW, Ann and Paul (and all other list members who celebrate Christmas), hope you had a great Christmas. Mine was so. Kids were spoiled (as they should be), my mother spoiled me (as she should), and we had a great day. Turkey, though, which I suppose is Dickensian, as Scrooge does send over a turkey to the Cratchets on Christmas day, after his epiphany.

BTW, Christmas Eve, as has now become a tradition, we watched the English Alaistar Sim version of A Christmas Carol (I think it's now been retitled Scrooge, at least the colourized version). It's by far the best screen adaptation of the Dickens classic.

cheers,

Duck a success -- in past years we made goose frequently, but also made
Peking duck by "cheating" and buying the duck in Chinatown. I love duck,
but
there is nothing so wonderful as a roast goose stuffed with wild rice
dressing.

Been a long time since i've been to Shun Lee - but then, it aint what it
used to be either.

Now it is time for an evening of old movies - Meet me in St Louis followed
by Holiday Inn
and, ugh, oh, yes - the dishes

Merry what ever to all and to all a good night!
