Subject: ZX-30 Questions In the archives someone refered to the ZX-30 as
crippled. What exactally does this mean? How is the camera crippled?
Does this refer to the fact that only certain lenses can be used with
this model?

Caleb, I bought my wife the ZX-50 (not yours, but still "crippled")
without adequate research. I was so "sold" on Pentax K-mount
compatibility,
I just assumed the thing would work with a K or M lens. Of course,
the guy behind the counter at the store was clueless about this as well.
Come to find out, though, that the Better Half could care less.
Jeeze, you can only use the great KA lenses and later. My wife doesn't
mind at all about his: She wants AUTOFOCUS, dang it!.
If you need to use all those juicey old lenses, go grab a cheapo K- M-
or
Program body. I bought my KM (fully functional) for thirty bucks at a
camera swap for $25, and it's a great camera.
In the mean time, enjoy KA and autofocus lenses.
You still have a lot to pick from in these mounts, and KA lenses are
spiffy.

The camera world is a jungle, eh? The folks on this list are a great
resource; I can honestly say that one of the best things about being
a Pentax owner is PDML. But, Caleb, there are DIEHARDS here. lol.
Folks DROOLING over expensive limited lenses and that new Thousand
Dollar
body. Me, I just want mebbe a KX, a few more KA lenses, and ONE ROLL
that
comes back from the lab with TWO keepers instead of one.

You have a fine camera. Enjoy it.
