Got slightly bad news for you, The *istD has a problem with TTL flash metering. It tends to be off about 1 or more stops with any TTL flash. To minimize the problem, set the ISO to 400 as there has been some speculation on the board that it works best there. Also, I've been using an auto-flash (Vivitar 285HV) with the camera set manually, and I get a very good exposure. It is also speculated on that the AF360FGZ with P-TTL works better than any other TTL flash.
We're waiting for a TTL bug fix in the next firmware update from Pentax.
