Hello Paul, Having 2 AF400T's myself, I can vouch for the fact that it can be used in TTL. There seems to be a bit of the unevenness in exposure that has been mentioned. It seems to be more of an issue with digital rather than this particular combination. TV and others have mentioned it in regards to other cameras and brands. My results have been as good as using the AF360FGZ with the *istD. I use a Lumiquest softbox on mine and a Stoboframe Pro-RL bracket. Overall, it is just fine. I have not tried it with K or M lenses however.
