In some neighbourhoods, the last thing you want to do at night when you have a couple of thousand dollars of cameras and lenses hanging from around your neck, is draw attention to yourself. <vbg>

Not to mention the fact that some folks, mistaking camera flashes for muzzle flashes, get a bit jittery when things go flash in the middle of the night.

strikes me as a not-so-good way to experiment with the techniques involved.
