Somebody else claimed that many of the "photographers" of his
accquaintance were incapable of operating their cameras in
anything other than automatic mode.

I don't think manual cameras are hard - I learned on a brownie
and an Agfa fold-out, and thought the match-needle metering of
my Spotmatic was a great step forward.

I still use my MXs, and often switch my all-automatic cameras
into manual mode (yes, even the *ist-D) when I want full control.
