While I can see and understand your point, the suggestion might be helpful in a future situation. In a similar scene one might be tempted to shoot it similarly to an earlier effort, but with someone's voice in your head, however subtle, saying "try another approach," you might just do that and get an altogether different result than what you had in mind - for better or worse, of course.
