I think people dislike the homeless and the poor because many are just a few steps away from joining them on life's sidewalk. Or, maybe because these unfortunate people "get in the way" at times, pose an eyesore to the lovely, tree lined esplanades we so crave ... or perhaps they cause horrendous traffic jams with their Hummers ...
