The solution (developer) is not the same colour either. It's a light cyan and it did not change colour like the other C-41 kit solutions do after the first film is processed. It remained the same. The others go very dark and recover slowly over a few hours until they end up only slightly darker than the original hue. The Bleach/Fix is also a little paler than that from the other kits.
As the tablets dissolve they crumble into large porous pieces and these in turn are reduced to grains that don't look too different from those in the other kits. But solution is much faster. I'll time the next lot. After mixing I always filter the solutions and with the tablets there was nothing to be seen in the filters *at all*. There is always some residue with the other kits; often a dozen or more very small black grains that are almost like sand. The bubbling may be a pH phenomenon and the solutions may buffer themselves after the solids have completely dissolved. But I really have no idea. People who use the Mini Lab machines may know more about the colour changes. What does hosed mean?
