Hi Butch,

The details are 'Tetenal, Colortec C-41 Phototabs, Negative Kit, Art. Nr
102223, Mono Tab technology'.

The developer and B/F come in three large plastic tubes, just like Alka
Seltzer -- but bigger. The Stabilizer is in an aluminium foil laminate
packet and each tab makes 1 litre of solution. The other tabs make 150 ml.
But two Bleach/Fix tabs are needed for 150 ml of solution. The kit will
handle 12 36 exposure films or 24 APS rolls. But I have already processed 5
x 24 in the first 300 ml and in a few minutes will be doing a sixth. As I
said, I made a double quantity which covers one 35mm spiral in my Kindermann
tank. The tank takes 6 x 35mm reels and this makes it very convenient for my
45 degree inclined rotating method of processing. The tank sits in a frame
in the waterbath and can be turned by a small motor with a rubber wheel, or
by hand. The motor was not a great success and I don't use it now. The wheel
slipped if the top of the tank got wet; needs redesign and it's not worth
the trouble.

The colours are fine and scan well. *But* the only ordinary pictures I've
processed so far are half a dozen of an owl in a tree. The others are all
photomicrographs and the colours are not what you would call 'normal'. Often
very red or blue if I use an HBO50 short arc burner as a light source. I
also use interference filters a lot and crossed polarisers. The owl turned
out quite well considering the camera was hand held (P30T with the Sigma 400
mm, 500 at 5.6).

I've taken about 800 photo-micrographs over the last month or two -- very
few using any Pentax gear at all. The Wild automatic camera requires no
exposure measuring or messing about with cable releases and so on. That's
one reason why I have been off-list for a while. But I shall continue to
make a few pictures using a Pentax body for PUG. But as soon as Spring has
sprung I'll be outside with the Pentaxes as usual.
