I don't know what noise looks like on a digital camera. I'm scanning B&W negative film. Would the noise be in the highlights or the shadows as I see the positive in the screen? Yes, I'm scanning max bit depth (if by that you mean 14 or 16 bits). Scanner supports up to 16x multi pass.
