I suppose both ways are more or less equally at risk, because in the end you're having to work with one side of the connector/plug interface on the camera, regardless. Sending the camera in for a connector repair has got to be expensive. keith ------- Thanks, Buttinskis. ;-) Good info. Which brings me back to a question I asked over week ago. Are some flash card readers better than others? Or is a plain vanilla one of one brand equal to a plain vanilla one of another brand? I mean plain vanilla ones are not expensive, but I was wondering. Marnie aka Doe Sidebar -- I got a Memorex one for my PowerShot (probably paid $16.95 or something equally dear. ;-)). One problem though, they had glued the label Memorex on top. The label does fit into a slight groove on top. But after one use, the unit heats up a bit, and the glue started heating up a bit (melting). And the label comes loose and glue oozes out around the edges of the label. To make a long story short, I have to stick the label back on firmly each time I've use it (it never comes completely off, just partially, otherwise I'd remove it). And the top has gotten stickier and stickier. (I peel off the extra glue when it cools off and dries). So maybe even plain vanilla ones are not all equal. ;-)
