Hi Steve it's good that you are making multiple backups it's bad that they are all on a rewritable medium (virii like that for ex.) and not protected from human or program errors. it's bad if you don't have a backup outside your home far away from your computer (fire, theft, sabotage)
use the hardisk but make an additional CDR once in a while an give it to a close friend to store. That's what I recommend to my clients.
