Here's my 2-cents-worth:
K-1000        -- durable but pricey these days
ZX-M/MZ-M     -- full-featured, modestly priced.
MX            -- the classic Pentax mechanical body
X-370 & X-700 -- Minolta makes a good series here
FM2           -- the Nikon classic for about the same price as the K-1000
Yashica bodies are great and can use the nice Contax/Zeiss lenses

Interestingly, all of these bodies fall between $100 and $200.
It's amazing how close they are in quality and features to price.
