Hi list. Well the title pretty much says it, is there a stability difference between 3 section and 4 section tripod legs?? In particular I am looking at the Gitzo 1227M and 1228M series of tripods. While I would certainly appreciate the smaller size of a 4 section tripod leg, I would not appreciate a reduction in stability, even if it is fairly small. If anyone can chime in with their experiences it would be appreciated. I really want to get the 1227 because it's just that much cheaper, but if the 1228 is just as solid, and smaller, I'll probably spring for it. Thanks for your help.
