This is very good news since I use my primes in low light.

Really? Who claims this? I haven't noticed such a problem. Perhaps it is a difference between multi-segment metering and center-weighted averaging (which I generally use.)

Why is the U.S. always last to get new Pentax gear? I ordered my DA 14 on 3 June.
