Yes, that TC had a shaft to operate the AF and I'm
sure it was working properly; otherwise, the lens front element --- no IF ---
wouldn't be turning.
As I said, it might be due to the not so
precise built of that TC, as Rob Studdert reports a similar experiment where
there was no loss of AF motor speed.
You know... these things
happen...
