I put that image up to exemplify the fact that even at f9 (sorry it wasn't actually f8) the DOF at the image plane can still be minuscule even using a 50mm lens and the background (which was less than 1m away) was blurred beyond recognition. I couldn't have got 1% of the subject in recognizable focus at f2.8.
