Well yes and no :-) As you may have seen in that article the DOF scales on most 35mm full frame lenses are calculated using a larger CoC than is generally thought suitable to apply to APS sized digi sensors. So once you have made provisions for that and then taken into account the lens FL required to provide the AOV you require in the image using the smaller sensor then you end up with a minor net DOF advantage.
