Hi, Dan. On first thought, I was pretty sure you were right, ans it turns out you're pretty close. In the 1990 USA population census, 3,9 million people in the USA claimed Norwegian heritage. That's 1 million short of Norway. Minnesota is one of the states they are most numerous, but far from the only one. Check this map for a coarse distribution: http://www.nb.no/emigrasjon/map.html
