I agree that there are a lot of people who don't *need* the advantages,
but I'd bet a lot of them buy a DSLR for the "image" factor.

But is a *choice*, and one that they'll make only if the marketing
department tries to push them in that direction. Witness the advertising
campaign for the Rebel-D to get an idea of how (un)likely that is.

Exactly. There's nothing wrong with the products, there's just something
wrong with *us* (human beings)!
