I'm in the same boat with my carpentry tools at the moment. I don't
do carpentry for a living, but they have come in handy for building
my house.
A house, like a car, is kind of a necessity, at least in our society.
A camera is not, unless you are a pro photographer.
I love my camera gear as much as anyone, perhaps more, but I make no
effort to pretend that I don't just like to collect shiny toys to
play with.
