Thanks Bill!
BUT, what a PITA that is - like I would have thought that the entire idea of
having the second set of batteries in the grip is so that when one runs low
the other automatically kicks in, thus giving you extra power.
One thing that I have decided that I *hate* about the grip is the fact that
you must remove the entire thing to change the batteries in the camera,
grrrrrrr...
BUT, I am discovering that the vertical hold controls are pretty cool...

Tan,
I've found that when this happens, the batteries in the grip have about half a charge or no charge. I've never really checked to see what the status of the charge is. I have also found that the camera batteries are fully charge (or so the meter says that's built in) . . . so my simple fix is to just open up the battery door on the grip, take out the whole lot, toss em in the bag, turn on the camera and keep shooting without them.

So, I finally splashed out and got myself the battery grip, but I am
finding
that when connected, it keeps saying that "batteries are depleted",
even
though both the grip and the camera have new batteries in them. When I
remove the grip, the camera works fine and the battery indicator shows
as
full.
I think I remember some time back, other people having a similar problem? What solutions did you guys come up with?
TIA, tan.
